Acclaim Technical Services has promoted a new chief executive from within its own ranks in David Popelier, who has been with the government technology services provider since 2020.
The 21-year market veteran has led ATS as acting CEO since January and worked as a business unit general manager before that. ATS has acquired five businesses since it hired Popelier, who has supported the post-integrations of those teams.
Popelier joined industry after starting his career as a State Department employee and founded Four Winds, an intelligence community-focused company that LMI acquired in 2016.
“David brings the context, knowledge, and experience from over 20 years of service in the U.S. intelligence community to the role of CEO in a way that will continue to scale the company as a clear market leader in serving the most critical of our nation’s missions,” ATS board member Joanne Isham said in a release Wednesday.
ATS is an employee-owned contractor that centers its strategy around technology, intelligence, operational, training and language services for national security agencies.
The company touted a workforce of approximately 600 people at the time of its most recent acquisition, which was the purchase of Alder Technology in late 2023.
One of ATS’ investors is Blue Delta Capital Partners, the government market investment firm.
